This tour offers a wealth of insight into South Africa’s history & past injustices, the legacy of the struggle and the promise of reconstruction & development initiatives under way at present.
 
Explore the unique culture and personality of the Cape Muslim community and their contributions to South Africa’s development. Visit District Six and the living museum. Travel to the Cape Flats and Townships. Stop at a local community based empowerment project. Depart on the ferry from the V&A Waterfront for a guided tour of Robben Island and the prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated
 
Please note that the Robben Island visit is whether permitting and subject to availability.
 
For those with limited time, a half day Walk to Freedom Tour is available and includes visits to the “Malay Quarter”, District Six & District Six Museum, the Cape Flats and Townships. The half day option excludes the visit to Robben Island.
